For the information described on this page, Sherbet is the data controller.
What we collect
Only what you give us. The Book a conversation form asks for your name, company, work email address and role, and gives you an optional field to tell us what you would like to achieve. Nothing else on this website collects personal information about you.
If you email or call us using the details in the footer, we hold whatever you choose to put in that message.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind on this website. There are no third-party scripts and no advertising pixels, and this site sets no cookies at all. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing follows you between visits, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss. Your browser may cache the fonts and images this site sends it, as it would for any website.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
To reply to you and to arrange the conversation you asked for. That is our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry made to us, and in some cases the step you have asked us to take before entering into a contract.
We will not add you to a marketing list on the strength of an enquiry, and we will not use your details for anything unrelated to the conversation you asked for. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.
How it is handled
Form submissions are sent to us by email and handled by the people at Sherbet who need to see them. They are held in our business email and, where the enquiry becomes an ongoing conversation, in our own records.
We use ordinary business suppliers to host this website and to run our email, and they process information on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted once it is clear there is nothing further to discuss, and in any event within two years. Where an enquiry becomes a client relationship, the information is kept for as long as that relationship lasts and for the period afterwards that our legal and accounting obligations require.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated and handled on our own server rather than passed to a third-party form service, and access to the resulting email is limited to the people who need it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.
Where information is held
Our suppliers are ordinary business providers and information is generally held in the UK or the European Economic Area. Where information reaches a country outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. You can object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interests, and you can withdraw consent where we relied on it.
Ask us and we will deal with it. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
